On offer today is a superb 7 Piece Carving & Serving set featuring Sterling Silver Caps & Ferrules and Sambar Stag Antler Horn Handles. Made in Sheffield, England by the highly sought after makers, Mappin & Webb. Each piece beautifully restored by our Master Craftsmen. The Fish Servers (Central to the case) feature Silver Plated headpieces, but the Cap and Ferrule are Sterling Silver.
The Caps and Ferrules are fully hallmarked with the Lion Passant, Crown and the letter Z for 1892 and the Makers Mark M&W. The Caps depict a floral pattern.
The Carving Knife measures 40 cm in length and weighs 205g. The Blade is marked ‘Walker & Hall’. The Carving Fork measures 31cm long and weighs 160g. The Sharpening Steel measures 35.5cm and weighs 222g. The Game Carving Knife measures 36cm long and weighs 151g. The Game Carving Fork measures 31cm and weighs 255g. The Fish Serving Knife is marked with ‘Mappin & Webb’ and measures 36cm long and weighs 256g. The Fish Serving Fork measures 27.5cm and weighs 170g.
